We have a stellar list of dignitaries for an evening of formality and fun at the Club to officially open the refurbished clubhouse.

The 'formality' is the occasion of the opening by the Mayor and Mayoress of Sefton, accompanied by John Pugh the MP for Southport and other local and RFU dignitaries.

The ‘fun’ (and that includes our visiting dignitaries!) is the first Friday family fun night of the season running in tandem with the ceremony. So please come down and join us for what promises to be a great evening.

The outside marquee bar and BBQ will be open from 5.30 pm prior to the first minis & juniors Friday Fun Night of the season kicking-off on the main pitch at 6pm. Sale Sharks will be in attendance with Tongan back row player Viliami Fihaki and mascots Sharky and Finlay.

During this we will be joined by the Mayor Cllr Stephen Kermode and Mayoress Gwen Kermode, John Pugh MP (scheduled to arrive between 6 and 6.15pm). They will take time to watch the on pitch activities, before moving inside the clubhouse. After a 15-20 minute welcoming ceremony the Mayor and Mayoress will take a brief tour of the new changing rooms before coming out to be introduced to mini and junior coaches and we hope to persuade them to have a photograph taken with all the mini’s and juniors present. Then they will move on to ‘cut the ribbon’ at the main entrance of the club and officially open the clubhouse.

Please note, and bear with us, as because of numbers access to the clubhouse will have to be restricted until the formalities of opening the clubhouse are completed. Once the ribbon has been cut and the commemorative plaque unveiled the ‘sponsors lounge’ will be open to all. As soon as the Mayor and Mayoress leave, the main bar will also be open to all.

Everyone welcome to share this unique occasion.

To emphasis and highlight the enormity of what we have achieved and how far this club has come over the last two decades, we will be a showing an updated version of the ‘Valuing the Volunteer’ video, followed by an excellent Angus Matheson's slideshow of the Guinness World Record Attempt, once the club is fully open to all.
