Ladies and Gents

Please see update re the Beach Rugby Festival at Waterloo / Crosby. Can we get a few teams to attend this. As it says the teams can be families , mixed ages, genders etc, not teams from clubs. It’s all in aid of fun and being able to see the World Cup on its travels before the completion.

Regards

Mike Dale

Update

Teams to arrive from around 09:30 - 10:00

Burbo Bank Hall Road West Crosby L23 8SY ...five minute walk from Hall Road station.

Team Gazebo's can be set up but the beach may be windy. Remember to bring all your food and drink for the day with you as you would for any festival or tournament

11:00 - 13:00 Beach Rugby Festival (ideally mixed age and genders)

Break for lunch 13:00 - 14:00

14:00 - 16:00 RWC present at the venue

I anticipate some games will continue whilst individual teams get the opportunity to both view the trophy and have photographs taken?

Remember to bring a club shirt for a photograph with the statues!

Depending on how many teams are available, we may curtail the time from 12 minutes a game to 7 minutes

16:00 - 17:00 arrange for the participating teams to be involved in the formation of a massive human rugby ball ( as a piece of living sculpture) at beach level

Once the area has been cleared, a general tidy-up and then back to Waterloo RFC clubhouse for a BBQ and drinks

There will be a mobile catering van at the venue where you can buy drinks and snack etc, but as aforementioned, I would propose bring all you can with you

We also discussed developing a greater level of collaboration within the teams across Merseyside, sharing good practice both on and off the field, coaching ideas, master-classes, 1st XV players attending other clubs to run sessions and the proposal of running a Merseyside beach festival of rugby yearly?

Let's get as many players and supporters down to the festival on the day to support and take part.
