THE JONATHAN SKOFIC INVITATIONAL SEVENS TOURNAMENT
SENIOR EVENT SATURDAY 7th. JUNE, 2014

Following the continued success of this event Tarleton RUFC has invited us to participate in the 2014 year’s competition as detailed above.

We need twelve players and a Coach/Manager.

The Senior’s Competition will be working towards a format of an A, B & C Division, with six teams in each division, playing in three round-robin competitions. The top two sides from each league will then play a deciding final

The Prize Money will be as follows:

A Division
Winners: £ 1000.00
Runners-up: £ 350.00

B Division
Winners: £ 300.00
Runners-up: £ 150.00

Social Division
Trophy and Alcohol

The first matches will be scheduled to kick off at 10.00am and will continue through to the final at around 5.30pm, with an hour break scheduled at 1.00pm for lunch.

In the interest of expanding the tournament last year the Skofic 7’s added a second day to the festival. Although the Senior competitions is finalised on the Saturday, the Sunday’s schedule is made up of a Senior-Colt tournament, across two divisions, with twelve teams competing for two sets of prizes.

The aim for 2014 is to expand further, with the addition of an invitational ladies 7’s fixture on the Saturday. This falls inline with the clubs ethos of providing competitive and enjoyable rugby for all in the community.

This has been a very enjoyable tournament over the last two years and is a fitting tribute to Jonathan Skofic who was one of the leading lights of our club until his untimely death. As a past President of the club he helped ensure that it continued from strength to strength and as a past player would have loved to have been playing on the day.

Teams are needed to be in place asap so we need to have a firm commitment from players. Please let George Baumber know your availability now - open to any senior player.

There are events being planned and organised to make the day enjoyable for both the players and the spectators and although the matches are scheduled to finish around 6.00pm the entertainment will carry on well into the night!

It will be a well organised fun day and if the weather is as good as it has been for the last two years to cap it all off. During both days we have a fully licensed bar, toilet facilities, shaded rest areas, food, snacks & BBQ.

LETS SUPPORT OUR NEIGHBOURS AND ENTER A TEAM/S IN HONOUR OF ONE THEIR LEGENDS.
