The Vital Signs Foundation (VSF) is holding its 22nd heart screening day at Southport College on Saturday 12th May 2018.
The Foundation is kindly offering SRFC members/players who are within the age range the chance to book in and get your heart screened? The test is just an ECG - simple and easy! You just see the consultant who reads your ECG and gives you the results there and then.
VSF has come across 15 young people so far who have had serious life-threatening heart issues and a high percentage of those have been sports men and women, so it is vital to get checked out.
The screening is FREE - you just need to email Tracey Wilson (details below) to book yourself in. Tracey advises though that you need to be quick as these days always fill up and there probably won't have any spaces left by the end of the week.
Please check out the website The Vital Signs Foundation (VSF) to find out about the charity, what it does and why.
It was set up in memory of Sandgrounder Chris Haw who died aged 25 due to a sudden cardiac arrest and this screening day will see the 2000th person at it since its inception.
