For the fourth time already this season, following a similar pattern to last, through no fault of the club a Senior Mens game has been victim to a late cancellation. Following on from the debacles against Oswestry (1s at home - couldn't raise a team!), De La Salle 2s (2s away - pitch not marked out!), Oldham 2s (3s at home - couldn't raise a team!) Littleborough have now been ordered to play a missed league fixture at Carlisle instead of fulfilling the Cup tie at Waterloo Road.

This is a great pity as this would have a very attractive fixture to further test the credentials of the Firsts.

We apologise to match sponsor Paul Morrisey and his guests, to all our volunteers and members and not least of our players and coaches for the inconvenience and frustration this has caused.

The only good news is that Dave Atherton's Thirds will be in the spotlight on the main pitch, assuming there is no repeat of last week, and they will appreciate as much support as possible in their Cup game against high-flying Clitheroe 1s.. The Seconds travel to south Manchester to take on Altrincham Kersal 2s also in a Cup game. Both kick-off at 3pm.
