Best wishes to all but with the festivities done & dusted the Senior teams now face up to a challenging second half of the season.

Three postponements on the trot has left the First XV with the headache of reorganising fixtures. More worryingly it has also left the team perilously close to the bottom of the table. The rest of the season is going to be all hands to the pump. No doubt there is the talent and wherewithal within the squad to prevail but the proof of the pudding starts with a tough one this Saturday at Waterloo Road against a Tyldesley team which has shown great improvement as the season has progressed.

The Second Team also struggling in their league showed the way with a resounding 41-3 victory at home to Bolton 2s just before the break. The Thirds too. With their league fixture programme considerably disrupted for various reasons ‘Super Gnome’ Jason Keating et al pulled out the stops to play a last-minute friendly at Moore. This weekend they are at home to Merseyside Police with the Seconds away at Eccles 2. All games kick off at 2.15pm. The Colts entertain Warrington on Sunday.

One final note to sign off 2017 on a positive and provide inspiration for 2018. Congratulations to Sam Cross on his second appearance for Lancashire Royals last Saturday. Well in Sam, as ever leading from the front!
