Congratulations to Jamie Bailey AKA Forest on making his debut for the County on Sunday, alongside seasoned veteran 'Big' Sam Cross. Both players speak volumes for the club having come up through the Southport Minis, Juniors & Colts ranks. Neither is anywhere near the age of majority, yet each has established himself as a regular in the impressive First team squad which in turn is populated by many of their generation.

Mind you they will have their work cut out as this can only serve to inspire other equally good prospects in the pipeline to follow suit. Certainly the under 14s and 15s both gave as good a performances as any in beating Waterloo and Bolton respectively in the Blacksticks Blue Lancashire Cup on Sunday

Further good news on the County front too as it has been announced that on 26th April the prestigious Finals day for the under13 to 16 age groups for this Cup will be held at Hillside. Another feather, or red rose , in the club cap! Lets hope that for the first time ever a Southport RFC team is featured on the day too. No pressure lads!
