In the meantime a big thank you to everyone who was at Waterloo Road this afternoon. Percy Park players, officials and parents travelled down in their numbers and were an absolute credit to their club and to the game of rugby union on and off the pitch.

Ken Andrews the Lancashire representative on the RFU Council who presented the Shield and medals. Referee Ben Davies and touch judges Mark Walsh and Pete Dolan who officiated.

The great turn out from the Southport parents and members throughout club with particular mention to the under 16s who dashed back from their own nail-biter at Vale of Lune, winning through to the semi-final of the Lancashire Cup virtue of an 'away-draw'. Hopefully their day will come later in the season.

But most of all thanks to our under 17s Colts. Today rightly belongs toall the players and coaches WINNERS of the Northern Shield who now go on to represent the whole of the North of England in the National stage of the RFU Colts Plate. Southport RFC is proud of you all.
