Southport Rugby Festival

The Southport Rugby Festival takes place at a first-class beach destination, which is full of fun entertainment to suit everyone. The town features one of the UK's oldest piers, with plenty of entertainment facilities including Pleasureland Theme Park, Splash World Indoor Water Park, many bars and restaurants and an award-winning beach.

The Southport Rugby Festival attracts over 100 teams is open to boys teams aged from under 7 to 15 years of age with the girls festival attracting teams aged under 15, 17, 19 & ladies.

The Southport Rugby Festival is played at the private grounds of Southport Rugby Club, which is just a ten minute journey from the holiday centre. The club has three fulll size and six mini/midi pitches, along with undercover seating and a food village. Each year, over 80 teams enter our Southport Rugby Festival with teams entering from Portugal, Scotland, Wales, Ireland and England. Teams will play up to the maximum permitted minutes per day as stipulated by The RFU.

There is a large clubhouse, food village, beer tent, Champagne & wine bar and stalls selling sports equipment. Teams will play up to the maximum minutes permitted per day as stipulated by the RFU (this is usually 4-5 games per day).

All age groups will be played in accordance with the RFU Age Grade regulations.

Sports Tours continues to fully support the RFU in their efforts to promote participation and fair play through their core values of Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship.

Coach Service to Festival Grounds: There is very limited parking at Southport Rugby Club and we recommend teams take the coach service.

First Aid: For your complete peace of mind, we provide a fully staffed First Aid Unit and qualified Paramedics.

Referees: We have always provided referees for all games. However, if a referee is not available, then the home team on the tournament schedule should provide the referee.

Accommodation

RIVERSIDE HOLIDAY PARK (U7-U12)

Riverside provides high quality accommodation in a countryside setting on the outskirts of Southport. There is an adult-only bar and a family bar with an indoor pool, play area and licensed mini-market.

Platinum Holiday Homes - These homes provide very high specification comfort and luxury with wooden decking and seating. Central heating and double glazing are installed along with a fully equipped modern kitchen and lounge area. Each holiday home has a spacious shower and WC with towels provided. These homes have two or three bedrooms, sleeping up to 6 people.

Your beds are made up prior to your arrival and private parking is located next to your accommodation.

Gold Holiday Homes - A great standard of accommodation with central heating, double glazing, large kitchen and lounge area. Each holiday home has a spacious shower and WC with towels provided. These homes have two or three bedrooms, sleeping up to 6 people.

SOUTHPORT HOLIDAY CENTRE

This holiday park is a great resort with plenty of facilities to keep your team busy over the weekend. The majority of our guests will stay at this park and it is available to all age groups.

Club Apartments – (Sleeps 4 & 6 Persons) – Club apartments are located in prime locations and provide the highest standard of accommodation. Four berth apartments have one twin bedroom and a double sofa-bed in the lounge area whilst Six berth apartments have two twin bedrooms plus a double sofa bed in the lounge. All apartments have a fully fitted kitchen, lounge area with dining table, TV and Satellite channels, fully fitted bathroom with bath/shower and free electricity. Bed linen is included.

Classic Apartments – (Sleeps 4 & 6 Persons) – Four berth Classic apartments have one twin bedroom and a double convertable sofa-bed in the lounge area. Six berth apartments have two twin bedrooms plus a double sofa bed in the lounge. All Classic apartments have a fully fitted kitchen, lounge area with dining table, TV and Satellite channels, fully fitted bathroom with bath/shower. Bed linen is included.

Popular Apartments - Sleeps 4 & 6 Persons – Four berth apartments have one twin bedroom and a double convertable sofa-bed in the lounge area with Six berth apartments having two twin bedrooms (one with bunk beds) plus a double sofa bed in the lounge. All apartments have a kitchen with lounge area and dining table & TV. The bathroom has a bath/shower. Bed linen is included.

Half Board: We can provide a daily breakfast and three course evening for just £45 per person for the weekend.

PLEASE NOTE: Southport Holiday Centre will be closed for the midweek period leading up to our event. During this time all the apartments and venues are being prepared for our Rugby Festival customers.

Things To Do!

Southport is an upmarket seaside resort, with plenty to see and do. Southport Pleasureland is the town's premier leisure attraction with lots of rides, an amusement arcade, games stalls and more. There is a wet and wild water theme park called Splash World with a range of slides from the lazy river to the super fast flume, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

The Seafront in Southport incorporates a variety of entertainment facilities including bars, restaurants and hotels, which are situated alongside the award-winning beach.
