Southport Shipwrecks Social 10s Tournament

Southport RFC would like to invite teams aged 35+ to compete in the first Southport Vets 10s Tournament.

The tournament will take place on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th April.

We will be having a Beer Festival, BBQ and entertainment in the clubhouse to celebrate the night in true vets ‘old-school rugby traditions.

Awards will be given out for the best dressed vets’ team, fancy dress etc.

I am sure that there will be no warm-downs, no protein shakes, and the ice cubes go into the gin-and-tonics, not the bath!

All teams to gather for a Friday night reception where there is the chance to meet friends old and new and get into the swing of the event.

Around 11am on Saturday, the rugby will get underway - teams are to be divided into groups and play in a round-robin format.

The rugby will conclude at around 6pm on the Saturday. This will allow plenty of time for players to re-hydrate at our fantastic Beer Festival, enjoy the frolics in the Bar. Then on to the many pubs, bars and clubs which Southport has to offer.

Plate and Cup Finals will commence at 1pm on the Sunday Afternoon to allow players to nurse their a few sore heads, some aching limbs on Sunday morning.
