The club is seeking to employ new coaches as part of its continuing Community Rugby programme ...

Southport RFC (SRFC) is seeking to appoint more part time, salaried Rugby Union coaches, for a schools delivery project that it started in September 2016 and which will continue through to 2019.
The objective is to deliver high quality Rugby coaching in selected junior and senior schools within the Southport, Churchtown, Birkdale, Scarisbrick and Formby areas.

The coaches will work under the leadership of the SRFC Community Rugby Coordinator and will coordinate activities with the RFU Rugby Development Officer (RDO) and work as part of the RFU Community Rugby Coaching team.

Applicants should be qualified to (or be working towards) RFU Level 2 Coaching Award and possess the delivery and personal skills needed to foster emerging players and those new to the game.

Responsibilities will include the delivery of in school coaching as curriculum support or as extra curriculum after school club, the organisation of matches between schools in the programme along with refereeing, management of after school clubs and liaison with SRFC.

The links with the RFU, local schools and the communities around them are essential in meeting the objectives of this project. To that end part of the applicant’s responsibilities will be to maintain a mutually beneficial relationship between school and club and a commitment to develop that partnership whenever possible.
