Rise & Shine
Sunday at BHS saw one of our teams take on Tarleton in a friendly fixture, that had it's lows and highs. A deliberate reversal of the phrase that sums up the game.
A late awakening Southport stood shell shocked by a committed Tarleton display, within 15 minutes, as the visitors ran in 4 unanswered tries 0-20. I never want to see a slow start like that again - NEVER.
Dead and buried, or maybe not!. Finally the boys wiped the sleep from their eyes and awoke from their slumber and showed Tarleton it was not going to be as easy as they hoped.
A try on the stroke of halftime gave hope, what would the 2nd half bring? Simply an unbelievable come back.
Tackles started to be made, support was there, rucks where cleaned out, commitment a plenty was in evidence, and the rewards for hard work reaped. 4 unanswered tries were the reward, in a simply thrilling 2nd half. I cannot single out any individual above another, well done to the try scorers, but they simply iced a cake, that a whole team effort provided. So proud of you all boys well done.
