Southport RFC (SRFC) is seeking to appoint Community Rugby Union coaches, for a school’s delivery project that started in September 2016 and continue through to 2019.
The objective is to deliver high quality Rugby coaching in selected junior, senior schools and FE Colleges within the Southport, Churchtown, Birkdale, Scarisbrick and Formby areas.
The coaches will work under the leadership of the SRFC Director of Rugby (DoR) and CRC Coordinator plus occasional liaison with the RFU Development Officer.
Applicants should be qualified to (or be working towards) RFU Level 2 Coaching Award and possess the delivery and interpersonal skills needed to foster emerging players and those new to the game.
Responsibilities will include the delivery of in school coaching as curriculum support or as extra curriculum after school clubs, the organisation of matches between schools in the programme along with refereeing and the possibility of management of after school clubs and liaison with SRFC.
The links with the RFU, local schools and the communities around them are essential in meeting the objectives of this project. To that end part of the applicant’s responsibilities will be to maintain a mutually beneficial relationship between school and club and a commitment to develop that partnership whenever possible.
