Planning your visit to the brightest night of the year? Here is everything you need to know for a smooth, family-friendly evening at Southport RFC’s Fireworks Extravaganza.

Southport RFC Clubhouse and grounds

When do gates open?
Gates open at 6:00pm

What time are the fireworks?
The display is scheduled for around 8:00pm. Please arrive in good time

Who is hosting?
The evening is hosted by Trevor Ford and broadcast live by Mighty Radio

What is on site to eat and drink?

  • BBQ and pizza station
  • Ice cream and sweet treats
  • Bar and clubhouse kitchen
The bar and kitchen will be open throughout the evening

  • Family, two adults plus two under 16s, £30
  • Adult, £10
  • Ages 13 to 16, £9
  • Ages 3 to 12, £7
  • Under 3s, free
How do I book?

Can I buy on the gate?
A limited number of tickets may be available on the gate, subject to capacity. Booking in advance is strongly recommended.

Do I need to bring my ticket?
Yes. Bring your eticket on your phone or a printed copy for scanning at the entrance

Is re entry allowed?
No. Re entry is not permitted once you leave the site

What is the refund policy?
Tickets are non refundable.

Can I transfer my ticket to someone else?
Yes. Ensure the new guest has the eticket QR code

Travel, Parking, and Access

Is there car parking?
There is no club car park access for this event due to the single access road and safety requirements

Where can I park?
Use nearby on-street parking and please respect our neighbours

  • Do not block or part block driveways, including those marked with the letter H
  • Avoid parking directly opposite driveways
  • Do not park on grass verges
Allow extra time to park and walk to the ground

Can I use public transport?
Yes

  • Rail, Hillside Station on the Merseyrail Northern Line is about a five minute walk
  • Bus, the 49 bus stops close to the ground. Check Merseytravel for live times and routes
Is there a drop off point?
Yes. A safe drop off and pick up zone will be signposted near the entrance. Please follow steward instructions

Site Facilities and Accessibility

Are there accessible toilets?
Yes. Disabled toilets are available on site

Is the site accessible for wheelchairs and prams?
Yes. Stewards can advise on the best routes and viewing spots on arrival

Baby changing facilities?
Yes, located in designated clubhouse toilets

Is there a cash machine?
No ATM on site. Some vendors accept cards. Please bring cash in case a stall is cash only

Can I bring chairs, blankets, or a small pop up seat?
Yes. A limited number of chairs may be available, but you are welcome to bring your own low chairs and blankets. Please be considerate of sight lines.

Safety and House Rules

Can I bring my own fireworks or sparklers?
No. Personal fireworks and sparklers are not permitted and will be confiscated. This is essential for everyone’s safety

Can I bring alcohol?
No. Do not bring your own alcohol. The bar will be open for purchases

Can I bring my dog?
No. Please do not bring dogs or other pets

Will the event run if it rains?
Yes. Fireworks are waterproofed and the display goes ahead in rain.

First aid and lost children point.
Yes. Qualified first aiders and a dedicated welfare point will be on site. Ask any steward for directions

What items are prohibited?

  • Fireworks, sparklers, flares
  • Drones or aerial devices
  • Glass bottles and large quantities of alcohol
  • BBQs or open flames
Security checks may be in operation at the entrance

Photography and drones
Personal photography is welcome from ground level. Drones are strictly prohibited

Smoking and vaping
Please use the designated smoking and vaping areas away from crowd pinch points and family zones.

Sensory considerations
There will be loud bangs, bright flashes, and crowd noise. If you or your child is sensitive to noise, consider ear defenders and identify a quieter viewing area on arrival with the help of a steward.

Timings on the Night, Guide

  • 6:00pm, gates open
  • 6:00pm to 8:00pm, food, rides, and family activities including bouncy castles, face painting, hook a duck, fairground games
  • Around 8:00pm, fireworks display
After the display, bars and stalls continue.
All timings are approximate and may be adjusted for safety or operational reasons

Volunteering

Can I volunteer to help?
Yes please. We welcome volunteers for daytime setup and evening support, including decorating, assisting at food stalls, and running activities. Speak to a committee member at training or on match days, or contact the club office.
