Southport RFC will host an exciting evening of schoolboy rugby on Friday, 2 October 2026, as Scarisbrick Hall School take on Merchant Taylors’ School under the lights at Waterloo Road.

Kick-off is at 6:00pm, with both schools bringing strong rugby programmes to what should be a fantastic occasion for players, families and supporters.

A number of Southport RFC Colts players are expected to be involved across both sides, giving them the opportunity to represent their schools on the main pitch in front of what we hope will be a strong local crowd.

The fixture provides another opportunity to showcase schoolboy rugby in the area, with both Scarisbrick Hall and Merchant Taylors’ continuing to provide regular playing opportunities for young players throughout the season.

The bar and kitchen will be open throughout the evening, and everybody is welcome to come down, support the players and enjoy what should be a brilliant evening of rugby.

Please note that parking at the club is limited, particularly for an event of this nature.

Supporters are encouraged to arrive early and car share where possible. We would also ask everyone attending to park considerately and avoid obstructing neighbouring properties or access routes around the club.

With plenty of local interest in both schools and a number of Southport RFC players likely to feature, we are looking forward to a great atmosphere under the lights.
