We are deeply saddened to share the news that Les Jackson passed away on Saturday 1st June.
Les was a huge character within the club when he played and is remembered fondly by all .
His tough style of play was a feature of his game as was his wit and banter off the field. His last game was a tour to Whitley Bay when he snapped his Achilles for the second time, and was forced to retire.
Les also played in the team that got to the quarter finals of the Lancashire Cup against a famously strong Orrell who were the biggest team in the area at the time and soon to be founder members of the first professional rugby union league.
