We are delighted to unveil a new state of the art scrum machine, made possible through the outstanding generosity of the John Laing Charitable Trust and every supporter of the Southport RFC Big Push.

This important investment will strengthen coaching provision across the club, providing a safe and modern environment for players to develop correct scrum technique at every stage of their rugby journey, from our minis and junior section through to Colts and senior rugby.
The new equipment represents another significant step in building strong foundations for the future of Southport RFC, ensuring that our players and coaches have the tools to develop safely, confidently and to the highest possible standard.

Gareth Lang, Director of Rugby, said: “Our old scrummage machine had reached the end of its life; it was outdated, unsafe and no longer fit for purpose. Thanks to the incredible generosity of the John Laing Charitable Trust and every single supporter of the Southport RFC Big Push, we have been able to replace it with a state of the art scrum machine that will transform coaching across the club.

This investment signals our commitment to building the right foundations in our junior section and carrying those standards through to our senior rugby. It means our players, from minis to adults, can learn correct technique in a safe, modern environment.

This new kit will make a real and lasting difference to our club, and we want to express our heartfelt thanks to everyone who made it possible.”
