
As we turn the page on 2025, January promises to be a busy and exciting month across all sections of the club. With league campaigns resuming, cup rugby on the horizon, and our Mini & Junior section back in full flow, there is plenty to look forward to at Waterloo Road and beyond.

Senior Men
1st XV – Counties 2 ADM Lancashire & Cheshire
The First XV return to league action with a demanding January schedule, facing a mix of home and away fixtures as the season gathers momentum.

2nd XV – NOWIRUL Kudos Showers Division 2 North
The Seconds also have a competitive run of fixtures, with a mix of away and home challenges.

The Third XV are in action throughout January with four fixtures, continuing to provide an important pathway and regular rugby for the wider senior squad and more senior players.

January marks the return of league rugby for the Ladies, with two important fixtures in Women’s NC 1 North (South).

Mini & Junior Section
Our Mini & Junior section is back in action throughout January with a combination of training sessions and fixtures, reflecting the scale and strength of junior rugby at the club.
Sunday 4 January – Club-wide training sessions
Sunday 11 January – Fixtures at Tarleton (including Lancashire U6 activity)
Sunday 18 January – Fixtures involving Wallasey, Broughton Park, and Orrell (age-group dependent)
Sunday 25 January – Fixtures against Widnes, Liverpool Collegiate, and others across multiple age groups
As always, training and matches will be age-specific, with full details communicated by individual coaches.
Matchday Welcome
All matches at Southport RFC are free entry, and supporters are warmly encouraged to come down and get behind all our teams.
The club bar and kitchen will be fully open for all home games, both Saturdays and Sundays, making Waterloo Road the perfect place to enjoy a full day of rugby this January.
