Purpose:
To promote Southport RFC and its interests, to members and the wider community, raising the club’s profile and boosting the popularity of the game locally by ensuring good news stories are communicated through the right channels.
Key aspects of the role:
1. Lead the PR of the club:-
Developing a marketing and communications strategy to build the profile of the club amongst media, audiences and key stakeholders. Create and implement a comprehensive digital and social media strategy to build the clubs profile in the community. Maximise publicity for the club’s games, events and activities.
2. Oversight of communication:-
Oversee internal channels like the club newsletter, website, social media, welcome packs and notice board. Ensure that the results of every home game are communicated together with match reports, giving brief verbal reports and interviews where necessary. Working closely with the local community to promote and elevate all activities of the club. Working across the club to raise awareness of all commercial partners and sponsors via all channels and developing opportunities for new partners.
