Dear Southport RFC Families,
As we settle into the season, we wanted to share a few updates and opportunities for you to get involved in supporting our ever-growing rugby community.
Growing Teams, Growing Opportunities
It has been fantastic to see so many new faces across our age groups this year. Hosting Sefton Schools tournaments has raised awareness and helped bring in new players, which is great news for the club. With this growth, our dedicated volunteer coaches and team managers have been busier than ever, and we are now looking for more support.
If you are interested in coaching within our Mini & Junior sections, full training, guidance, and access to RFU coaching courses will be provided. Please speak to any of our current coaches or contact Colin Toohey or Mike Dale for more information.
Sunday Kitchen Volunteers
More players mean more hungry mouths on Sunday mornings. We are looking for parent volunteers to help serve food and drinks in the clubhouse and assist with a short tidy-up afterwards. Just an hour or two of your time makes a big difference. If you can help, please speak to Louise or your team administrator.
Wednesday Evening Training & Clubhouse Trial
Most of our Mini & Junior teams now train on Wednesday evenings. To make the most of the remaining daylight, we are trialling opening the clubhouse from 5.30pm each week.
Teas, coffees, and light snacks such as pizza and chicken strips will be available for the children at a small cost, and the bar will be open for parents. We encourage families to come down, stay warm, and enjoy the community atmosphere.
Photographs and Articles
We’re always keen to celebrate our teams and community. Any match photos, reports, or articles can be submitted for sharing across the club’s social media channels by emailing info@southportrfc.com.
Upcoming Events
Thank you for being part of the Southport RFC family. Your support and involvement are what keep the club thriving. We look forward to an exciting and successful season ahead.
Kind regards,
Enda Rylands
