Ewan previously played for Kidderminster and Stourbridge before joining Southport in the 2018/19 season. An influence presence on the pitch, and great clubman away from it too; Ewan volunteers his time to assist in coaching our Under 15s.

James Cook - EPR Hospitality

We are delighted to announce James Cook has signed for the 2022/23 season.

James has a well known and long standing association with Southport RFC. The 22-year-old back rejoins for the 2022/23 campaign. James has Senior representative honours that include Lancashire U20s, Lancashire Royals and Anti-Assassins.

James has also agreed to take on the role as U18 Colts Head Coach for the upcoming season.

Callum Tootle - EFT Group

Known to most if not all as simply 'Toots'; the 22-year-old prop has amassed 67 First XV appearances to date; quite impressive considering the 2022/23 season is set to be his third full campaign since making his debut in 2018.

The Club main sponsors, EFT have bought into the young player both on and off the field as Callum joined EFT in 2018 as a Fire & Safety Apprentice through the clubs partnership with the business and has since qualified as a Fire & Safety Engineer.

Double delight as Harrison Keating & Adam Wood commit for the 2022/23 season.
Both joined the club in 2012 as Under 13s and have risen through the ranks side by side to become prominent figures in the First XV. Hopefully their performances together on the pitch will be much better than their drinking performances off the pitch.

Gareth Lang - Pete Twaites

Gareth Lang has committed for the 2022/23 season. Club Captain and former First XV Captain Gareth (Known to most as Pugs), played his first game for the #FirstXV back in 1999, 23 seasons and 450 games later, he is set to be a instrumental feature on the pitch, promoting transition to Senior Rugby and much more. Gareth is a credit to his club.

Conor Rylands - EPR Hospitality

Conor is another product of our mini & junior section and is a fine example of someone who will play a big part in the future of Southport RFC.

In his youth, Rylands played as a fly-half with his style of play being reminiscent of a young Dan Carter, apparently. Moving into senior rugby, Rylands embraced the culture and forged an established place within the second team, it was with this, Rylands fast feet caught the eye, not on the rugby pitch but on the dance floor as he rolled to proud mary, it was a eureka moment, the fast feet and Andy Goode physique coming together as we discovered the Irish, Jonah Lomu and this was evident on his maiden appearance on the wing, for the first team, running 65 metres with five players on his back to score the opening try of the 2021/22 season, and not forgetting the several spectacular offloads, resulting in a MOTM performance on debut, latterly Conor has forged an established place in the First XV at fly-half but has great versatility to cover a number of positions in the back line.

Luke Fusco - Facilit8

Fusco is the latest to commit for the 2022/23 season. Like so many here at Southport RFC, Luke is a proud product of our mini junior section. He has gone on to be an established himself in the First XV over the last few seasons; and aged just 21 has many years ahead of him as we look forward to seeing the back-rower in action this upcoming season.

Alison 'moggy' Morris joined southport ladies in 2012. The only player at srfc to have played every single game for the senior Ladies team in that 10 year period.
