Southport RFC is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of former First XV captain Roy “Billy” Beetham, who passed away this morning (Wednesday 6th of May 2026)

Billy as he was known to many was a highly respected figure within the club and a proud servant of Southport RFC, both on and off the field. A former First Team skipper and outstanding player, he will be fondly remembered by teammates, members and supporters alike.

Everyone at Southport RFC sends its sincere condolences to all of the Beetham family at this difficult time.
