Millie-Rose was diagnosed with stage 4 Neuroblastoma a couple of weeks ago.
She is a friend of James Dorans daughter Yasmin. On hearing the news Yasmin asked if she could do a sponsored skip at the rugby club for her friend Millie-Rose, who is very poorly, which Chairman Andy Carney and Director of Rugby Mike Dale were delighted to embrace.
Yesterday Yasmin, supported by Mum Melanie and Millies family, spent all afternoon in the club house to reach her target of 400 skips whilst dad James led his troops to a dramatic victory over St Edward Old Boys. The final twenty skips were completed after the match to a voiciferous count down in front of a packed bar, and many thanks to the Eddies lads who also dug deep.
This was a tremendous and heart-warming effort by Yasmin as she herself suffers with Dyspraxia which is about her co-ordination. Yasmin has found the one thing she can do without falling over is skipping thanks to Kingsbury School in Skelmersdale.
Yasmin, James, Melanie, and Yasmins family would like to thank every one at SRFC for their support, and especially the clubs proud main sponsor Bernard O'Malley, sadly laid up with a broken ankle himself (get well soon Bernard!), of Nationwide Produce for his magnificent donation.
