Under 16s & Under 18s to host Padua College of Queensland, Australia

Southport Rugby Football Club is delighted to announce we will host Padua College of Queensland, Australia on the English leg of their European rugby tour on Thursday 4th of April 2024.

Padua College is an independent school located in the Brisbane suburb of Kedron. The school has a proud history in rugby union with many Old Boys playing the game at a professional level.

Our last Australian visit was in 1983 when the Australian national team trained for three days at Waterloo Road prior to their tour match against The North. Mark Ella the Wallabies half-back star complimented the late lamented Margaret Jackson for her culinary skills by presenting her with a bouquet of flowers. Margaret declined offers of white slavery as Gordon, her husband and then Chairman, had no use for the Dozen Sheep Dowry.

We will host the school in two fixtures on the same evening of Thursday 4th of April 2024:
